have to share a fun story behind this painting. I was out playing with our horses when one of them sauntered over and started nibbling at the hat I was wearing. I took it off and let her sniff and play with it, and before long, I was rubbing her face with it. Eventually, I put the hat on her head, and she started following me around, wearing my cowboy hat. It was such a cute and funny moment that I just had to try to recreate it. 

After seeing her with the hat, it reminded me of that old country song “The Gambler” by Kenny Rogers. She looked like a stone-faced gambler, ready to play a hand of Aces and Eights. The hat, casting a shadow over her eyes, gives her an almost human-like presence.

This piece is a playful nod to the unexpected moments that bring joy and laughter.
